Description: The video is a presentation on the puppet museum known as Putli Sansar at the Bagore ki Haveli in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The beautiful city of Udaipur is well known for its palaces, havelis and museums. The 300 year old Bagore ki Haveli is one such famous landmark which is also the headquarters of the West Zone Culture Centre. The Bagore ki Haveli houses a museum which is dedicated to displaying the traditional culture and lifestyle of the past. The museum has a section which is entirely devoted to the art of puppetry and puppet making. This section called the Putli Sansar (Puppet World) exhibits more than 150 puppets. These puppets were made during a three week long workshop organized by the Ministry of Culture, India to revive the vanishing art of puppetry. The workshop was attended by more than 25 traditional puppet makers from Rajasthan.
