Jantar is a stringed instrument made of wood, steel, and horsehair. A community instrument, it is found in Madhya Pradesh. Majorly used by the ‘Pradhan’ community of Madhya Pradesh as an accompanying instrument.

Stick type wooden body with two gourds tied to it. Twelve raised wooden frets at the centre. One main and one auxiliary bridge, with two steel strings. Played with a bow made of horsehair. Used by the ‘Pradhan’ community of Madhya Pradesh as an accompanying instrument.
