Davandi is a percussion instrument made of brass, wood, and parchment. Found in Tamil Nadu, this hourglass-shaped small drum is used in religious occasions, auspicious occasions, and temple services.

Hourglass shaped small drum of brass. Hooped parchment is stretched over both the faces. Held in the left hand and is struck by a thin wooden stick by the right hand. Used in religious, auspicious occasions and temple services.
