Description: This paper is about the appreciation of Sanskrit drama in Kalayug. The purpose of modern criticism has been precise historical and linguistic analysis: and it is thanks to its historical and sociological bias that we can today attempt the chronological presentation of Sanskrit drama. It can be safely said that western scholars either ignore the achievements of Sanskrit literary criticism or dismiss it after totally inadequate inquiry. On the other hand, Indian scholars tend to apply these standards in fragmentary and disorderly fashion or allow them to lapse into complete disuse.
