04 DECEMBER INDIAN NAVY DAY
India has an ancient Naval tradition as is evidenced from various paintings, sculptures and manuscripts. Today, the modern Indian Naval force is rated as one of the best in the world. The Indian Navy played a prominent role during the Indo-Pak War of 1971. Operation Trident was an offensive operation launched by the Indian Navy on Pakistan's port city of Karachi during this war. To commemorate and pay tribute to the Navy for their role in this historic war, every year, 04 December is observed as Indian Navy Day. Today, the country is proud of our valiant Naval force for their commitment towards safeguarding India’s waters and protecting our national interests.
