04 DECEMBER INDIAN NAVY DAY
India has an ancient naval tradition, evident in various paintings, sculptures, and manuscripts. Today, the modern Indian Naval force is recognised as one of the best in the world. The Indian Navy played a prominent role during the Indo-Pak War of 1971. In this war, Operation Trident was an offensive operation launched by the Indian Navy on the port city of Karachi in Pakistan. To commemorate and pay tribute to the Navy for their role in this historic conflict, every year, 04 December is observed as Indian Navy Day. Today, the country is proud of its resilient naval force and its unwavering commitment to safeguarding India’s waters and protecting national interests.
