07 DECEMBER ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY
Soldiers are one of the greatest assets of any country. In 1949, a committee was set up under the leadership of the Defence Minister, where it was decided that henceforth, 07 December would be observed nationally as Armed Forces Flag Day. On this day, the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy organise a variety of programmes to showcase their efforts towards national security. The main objective of the Armed Forces Flag Day is to honour the martyrs and the men and women in uniform who valiantly fought & continue to fight on our borders to safeguard the country's honour. On this day, citizens of India voluntarily donate funds towards the welfare of retired and serving armed forces personnel and their families. Let us as citizens salute our Indian armed forces, who have always been there to protect us.
