03 OCTOBER DR LAKSHMI NARAYAN SAHU (1890 TO 1963)
Born on 03 Oct 1890, Dr Lakshmi Narayan Sahu hailed from the state of Orissa. Dr Sahu was an eminent writer, poet, journalist, historian, social worker, and politician. Known to be a very active member of the Constituent Assembly of India, his volatile debates while the drafting of the ‘Constitution of India’ was in process, prompted even Dr B R Ambedkar to admit that there were contradictions in the Constitution, which had to be looked into. In 1955, the Govt. of India conferred him with the Padma Shri for his contribution to Education and Literature. He passed away in the year 1963.
